Clean Can Co LLC ("Clean Can Co," "we," "us") is an owner-operated residential trash bin cleaning service in Northeast Georgia. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We have written it in plain language on purpose.

The short version: We collect the minimum we need to clean your bins and get paid — your name, address, contact info, and service history. We never see or store your full card number. We do not sell your information to anyone, ever. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.

Who we are

What we collect

Information you give us

Contact details — your name, service address, billing address, email address, and phone number.
Service details — how many bins you have, your trash collection day, whether you have recycling pickup, gate codes or access notes you choose to share, and any special instructions.
Referral information — if you tell us another customer referred you, we record that connection so we can credit them.
Account credentials — if you create a customer account, your email address and an encrypted form of your password. We cannot see your password.

Payment information

This one matters, so we are being specific.

When you add a card to your account, your card details are transmitted directly from your browser to Intuit, the company that operates QuickBooks Payments. Your full card number, expiration date, and security code never pass through Clean Can Co's website or servers, and we never store them.

What we keep is a reference token from Intuit, plus the card brand and last four digits so you can tell which card is on file. Nobody can make a purchase anywhere with that information. Intuit is a PCI-DSS compliant payment processor and handles the actual card data under their own privacy policy.

Information collected automatically

Our website records basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and which pages you visited. This comes from ordinary web server logs and our hosting provider. We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not sell or share this data with advertisers.

Why we collect it

To provide service — scheduling your cleanings around your trash and recycling collection days, routing our truck, and knowing how to access your bins.
To communicate with you — confirming appointments, sending service reminders, letting you know when a cleaning is complete, and answering your questions.
To bill you — charging the card you authorized after service is completed, and keeping accurate business records.
To apply discounts — tracking referral credits you have earned.
To meet legal and tax obligations — keeping the business records Georgia and federal law require us to keep.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We have never sold it and we will not sell it.

We share limited information with a small number of service providers who help us run the business, and only what each one needs:

Intuit (QuickBooks & QuickBooks Payments) — your name, contact details, and payment information, to process payments and keep our accounting records.
Supabase — our database provider, which stores your customer record and service history.
Netlify — our website host.
Resend — our email provider, which delivers service confirmations and receipts.
Google Maps — used to verify addresses and plan routes.

We may also disclose information if we are legally required to, such as in response to a valid subpoena or court order, or if it is necessary to protect someone's safety.

How we protect it

Our website is served entirely over encrypted HTTPS connections.
Card numbers are never stored on our systems, so there is nothing there for anyone to steal.
Payment system credentials are held server-side only and are never exposed to your browser.
Access to customer records is limited to the owner of the business.

No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If we ever become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you promptly.

How long we keep it

We keep your customer record for as long as you are a customer, and afterward as long as needed for tax, accounting, and legal purposes — generally seven years for financial records. If you ask us to delete your data, we will delete everything we are not legally required to retain.

Your choices

See your data — ask us and we will tell you what we have on file for you.
Correct it — update your details in your customer account, or email us.
Delete it — ask us to delete your information and we will, apart from records the law requires us to keep.
Remove your card — you can remove your saved payment method at any time. Note that we require a card on file to schedule recurring service.
Stop emails — unsubscribe from any marketing email. We will still send you transactional messages such as receipts and appointment confirmations while you are an active customer.

Text messages

If you give us your mobile number, we may text you about your service — a reminder the day before, or a note when your bins are done. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts. We will not send you marketing texts without your separate consent.

Children

Our service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we make a meaningful change to how we handle your information, we will update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, notify active customers by email.
